Apollo Milton Obote

Apollo Milton Obote (28 December 1924 - 10 October 2005) was the first executive Prime Minister (1962 - 1966) and executive President (1966 - 1971) of independent Uganda. He was overthrown by his army commander, Idi Amin Dada in 1971 but bounced back in 1980 to lead the country as President until 1985 when he was overthrown by the army for the second time. He lived in exile in Zambia until his death from a medical facility in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 10 October 2005.
